Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Internal Auditor to join our team at ArcelorMittal Dofasco. As a key member of our Global Assurance team, you will be responsible for managing significant parts of the overall audit, from planning to completion, and ensuring that our internal controls and processes are operating effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in the risk assessment process to identify projects for inclusion in the risk-based audit plan and for SOx planning purposes.
  • Perform internal audits, advisory services, and agile reviews in accordance with our methodology and IIA standards.
  • Gain an understanding and document controls in the project scope through walk-throughs and flowcharts or narratives.
  • Test design adequacy and effectiveness of controls.
  • Identify and recommend improvements in internal controls and value addition opportunities.
  • Participate in the discussion of the results of the testing and the recommendations raised with process owners/managers.
  • Participate in the writing of the draft audit report.
  • Participate in the periodic follow-ups of recommendations.
  • Identify cost recoveries and value additions.
  • Perform SOx compliance testing under the direction of the Global Assurance Manager or Supervisor.
  • Participate in special projects and assignments as required by the Region Head.
Requirements
  • University degree in Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Engineering, Computer Science, or Law.
  • Professional qualifications such as Chartered Accountant, CPA, CIA, or CISA.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent SAP skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of accounting/finance principles and computer systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of orientation to risk and control principles.
  • Advanced understanding and orientation to process management and improvement.
  • Intermediate to Advanced understanding of the steel industry.
Work Environment

Office environment with plant exposure on various projects. Travel to joint venture and subsidiary locations for stays generally in the range of 1 week.

Hours of Work

Days, Monday to Friday with extended hours as required to meet project deadlines or resulting from periods of peak workloads.
