Description

MNP is seeking a Senior Manager to join our Recovery & Restructuring team. As a trusted advisor, you will help clients navigate through times of financial distress and provide expert guidance on corporate insolvency services.

Responsibilities

  • Manage engagements related to restructuring and insolvency appointments, including bankruptcies, proposals, receiverships, CCAAs, liquidations, etc.
  • Assist with the proposal, planning and delivery of corporate insolvency services, including identifying strategic, operational and financial challenges of a business.
  • Prepare court reports and correspondence to clients and other stakeholders.
  • Prepare and review all relevant statutory documentation associated with BIA, CCAA, Wind-Up Acts, Business Corporation Acts, etc.
  • Develop relationships with special loan financiers, insolvency lawyers, business executives, etc.
  • Network in the local business community and consider business development opportunities.
  • Assist with data analysis, review of accounting records and the development of financial models.
  • Manage engagement planning and scheduling, as well as engagement financials (budgets, WIP, timely billing, collection, variance recognition).
  • Maintain high quality control and apply specialized knowledge to anticipate, identify and address issues or key risks relevant to the business.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • 4+ years of corporate insolvency experience.
  • Completion of or pursuing a Chartered Insolvency and Restructuring Professional (CIRP) certification and working to become a Licensed Insolvency Trustee (LIT).
  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation is considered an asset.
  • Strong business acumen, practice development skills, commitment to excellence and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to work with and develop financial models.
  • Proven people management, relationship building and leadership skills.
  • Strong strategic planning and conceptual thinking skills.
