Job Overview:The Compensation and Classification Analyst plays a pivotal role in the formulation, execution, and management of the institution's compensation frameworks. This position collaborates closely with various stakeholders, including HR Services and departmental partners, to facilitate the administration of salary structures, job assessments, performance evaluation, and organizational restructuring efforts. The Analyst acts as a key resource, providing integrated advisory services on compensation-related issues across multiple HR domains.

This role ensures the consistent and appropriate application of job assessment methodologies and compensation strategies, adhering to collective agreements and institutional policies. The Analyst serves as a subject matter expert and may offer insights that span various HR functions, including labor relations, recruitment, performance evaluation, and organizational development initiatives.

Required Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree in human resources management, business, or a related discipline.
  • Possession of a Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation or Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) is preferred.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in human resources, specifically in compensation, classification, or job evaluation, ideally within public sector or complex multi-union environments.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Extensive experience with point factor job evaluation systems, organizational design, and compensation legislation.
  • Proficient in interpreting organizational policies, procedures, and collective agreement stipulations.
  • Strong knowledge of employment and labor laws, including Employment Standards and Human Rights legislation.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio).
  • Experience in a highly automated HR setting with integrated HR and payroll systems.
