Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Community Facilitator to support families and their children/adolescents using a trauma-informed and strength-based approach.
The successful candidate will work with participants to develop a plan to meet their needs, enhance parental competency, and strengthen family functioning.
Key Responsibilities- Provide trauma-informed and strength-based support to families and their children/adolescents
- Develop and implement plans to meet the needs of participants
- Enhance parental competency and promote a sense of belonging within the child/adolescent and their caregiver
- Strengthen and preserve family functioning
- Provide opportunities for parents/caregivers and/or significant persons to maintain contact with their children/adolescents
- Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, counselling, or related field of study
- 2+ years of experience working with children and families with complex needs
- Knowledge of colonization, residential schools, and intergenerational trauma in indigenous communities
- Ability to work effectively with participants, program team, and other community professionals
- Valid BC Driver's License and reliable vehicle
