About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior/Deputy Analyst to join our Closed-End Actions Service team at CPP Investments. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting key processes related to investment, governance, compliance, internal and external communications, reporting, service procedures, IT systems, and business continuity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operations Management and Execution:
    • Update service policies and procedures and handle related inquiries
    • Manage updates of communications for external and internal websites, presentation documents, etc.
    • Manage the process governing the pre-audit file closure, other document management processes, and inquiries
    • Coordinate data requirements on Closed-End Actions Service trading pipelines
    • Support enterprise-wide change initiatives, such as workplace technology, facilities, administrative services, and enterprise risk
    • Support internal audit requests of the Closed-End Actions Service
    • Represent the Closed-End Actions Service in the Business Continuity Management team and maintain the service impact plan
    • Contribute to ongoing efforts to increase knowledge sharing and collaboration within the service, including effective access to data used by investment teams
    • Coordinate user requirements definition and provide system and tool verification support for the service
    • Support internal placement committee processes and approval activities
    • Act as placement committee secretary when needed
    • Perform other assigned tasks and projects
  • Portfolio Analysis and Monitoring:
    • Collaborate in preparing reports and portfolio analysis
    • Support trading teams in monitoring investment performance by collecting key performance data and producing reports
    • Contribute to collecting, monitoring, and reviewing relevant data for portfolio investments
    • Conduct additional analyses as part of portfolio monitoring activities
    • Perform analyses and produce reports as needed to support operations and investment decision-making processes
    • Understand various platforms and strategic intelligence tools to extract data and guide or train investment professionals to become self-reliant
    Requirements
    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field such as finance, business, accounting, or economics
    • Two to five years of experience in finance or investment; experience in the closed-end sector is a definite advantage
    • Solid knowledge of the investment sector, with a precise understanding of operations and processes, a key asset
    • Ability to quickly grasp new concepts and work in a high-performance environment
    • Strong organizational sense, proven attention to detail and accuracy, and ability to produce high-quality work under pressure and tight deadlines
    • Strong analytical skills, great financial information communication skills; ability to solve multidimensional problems
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to build effective relationships at all levels
    • Motivation, flexibility, and ability to adapt to changing priorities and new challenges
    • Proven ability to work independently and deliver high performance within a team
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel), and ability to quickly learn new systems and applications
