Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Lead to join our team at HURON PERTH HEALTHCARE ALLIANCE. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for championing quality management activities and ensuring compliance with Accreditation Canada Diagnostics (ACD) Laboratory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement quality management systems to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with the Laboratory Director, Regional Manager, and IHLP staff to formulate and implement policies and procedures.
  • Provide redundancy/support to the current IHLP Regional Team for general oversight and quality management.
  • Conduct risk assessments and evaluate quality management system risks.
  • Support quality improvement initiatives and gather data for departmental projects and corporate initiatives.
  • Facilitate management review and quality reporting.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited training program in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT).
  • Current (or eligibility for) registration with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO) preferred.
  • University degree, e.g., BMLSc, BSc, preferred.
  • Certification in Quality Management, e.g., CLQM, and/or Lean/Six Sigma, and/or Project Management, e.g., PMP, preferred.
  • ACD Assessor status, or completion of the IQMH Internal Auditing Course, preferred.
  • At least 5 years of current experience in leadership and/or project management.
  • At least 5 years of technical experience in a clinical laboratory.
  • Experience in working with electronic document control software.
  • Experience in developing, maintaining, and improving laboratory quality systems.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to prepare correspondence and reports.
  • Ability to work effectively with hospital/laboratory information systems.
  • Ability to work with Microsoft Office Suite programs such as Excel and Word.
  • Ability to interpret and apply regulated lab standards and best practices.
  • Ability to absorb new ideas and concepts quickly.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Excellent written, oral, interpersonal, and presentational skills.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Ability to problem solve and think strategically.
  • Ability to utilize available resources to achieve a goal.
