Senior Assurance and Accounting Professional

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assurance and Accounting professional to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading client-facing engagement teams to complete audits, compliance tax engagements, budgeting, internal controls, and financial/accounting transactions.
You will deliver industry and technical expertise in audit and assurance through client interactions, reports, technical work, management presentations, and high-quality deliverables. Your portfolio will include managing a group of clients, understanding their business, key risks, and ways to deliver added value, ensuring client needs are met, and relationships and accounts grow and develop.
You will be accountable for engagement planning and scheduling as well as project financials, including budgets, WIPS, timely billing, collection, and variance recognition. You will maintain quality control and apply specialized knowledge to anticipate, identify, and address issues relevant to the client's business, financial entries, and reports.
You will network in the local business community, consider business development opportunities, and contribute to the preparation and delivery of competitive proposals to meet client needs. You will also mentor, motivate, and coach team members towards professional and personal development by setting clear expectations, providing feedback, and conducting performance reviews.
Maintaining flexibility to travel, as necessary, is also a requirement of this role.
Requirements- CPA designation
- 4 to 6 years of relevant public accounting experience
- Strong understanding of business, accounting, management, and practice development principles
- Proven people management, relationship building, and leadership skills
- Experience working with accounting and tax software such as Caseware, TaxCycle (or similar software such as TaxPrep or Profile); working knowledge of QuickBooks and/or Xero would be an asset but not required
