Position Overview

This position is under the supervision of the Clinical Service Manager within the Children's Mental Health department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform comprehensive evaluations
  • Implement behavior management techniques; support staff, guardians, and educators in understanding and utilizing these methods
  • Facilitate group sessions and deliver case management for children and adolescents with intricate needs
Required Qualifications:
  • Diploma in Child and Youth Work
  • Active membership with the Ontario Association of Child and Youth Counsellors
  • An undergraduate degree in Psychology is advantageous
  • Two to three years of relevant experience in child and adolescent mental health, including behavioral assessments and managing challenging behaviors in various settings
  • Proven ability to collaborate with team members to create and execute tailored treatment plans for patients and families in a milieu environment, employing evidence-based practices
  • Understanding of major childhood disorders
  • Ability to model effective behavior management techniques
  • Experience working alongside educators
  • Proficient in developing and leading therapeutic groups
  • Experience in providing comprehensive case management
  • Willingness to work in secure, open, and day hospital environments

  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Proficient in computer applications
  • Demonstrated excellent attendance and punctuality
Additional Information:

Work hours include days, eight-hour shifts, with potential weekend and holiday shifts based on operational needs.
