Job Title: Speech-language Pathologist

We are seeking a skilled Speech-language Pathologist to join our team at the Kamloops Public Health Unit in Kamloops, BC.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will work with children aged birth-to-school entry from diverse cultural backgrounds and their parents/caregivers. The role involves screening, assessment, intervention, coaching, and education in all areas of speech, language, and communication.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with professionals from the Ministry of Children & Family Development (MCFD), Ministry of Education (MoE), and local community organizations.
  • Engage in creative and effective communication with clients and their caregivers.
  • Develop and implement individualized plans to support clients' goals.
  • Provide coaching and education to parents and caregivers on communication strategies.
Requirements:
  • Experience working with infants, toddlers, and preschoolers and their caregivers.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
