About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Food Services Assistant at the Provincial and Demonstration Schools Branch. As a key member of our food services team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our cafeteria and providing excellent customer service to our students and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation and serving of meals to students and staff
  • Maintain a clean and safe food service environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations
  • Operate commercial and institutional food preparation equipment
  • Ensure that food services equipment and supplies are used and stored in a safe and efficient manner
  • Perform other duties related to the operation of a large school cafeteria
Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience working in a large volume food services environment
  • Experience operating commercial and institutional food preparation equipment
  • Knowledge of food handling and preparation techniques and sanitation standards
  • Knowledge of basic food preparation, including the ability to prepare simple meals, soups, salads, sandwiches, etc.
  • Knowledge of good hygiene and health and safety regulations
  • Completed Food Handlers Certificate or willingness to obtain
  • Ability to work shifts and perform physical work
