Hawthorne Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Senior External Communications Advisor to drive impactful communication initiatives for Emergency Medical Care Inc. (EMC), a subsidiary of Medavie Health Services.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and execute communications strategies to support EMC's business objectives.
- Manage media relations, including responding to requests for information and conducting interviews.
- Build and maintain relationships with media and healthcare partners to identify emerging opportunities and challenges.
- Monitor key regional and national news media to stay informed about issues affecting EMC.
- Develop and deliver effective communication strategies to support business initiatives and operational announcements.
- Oversee content creation for external communications channels, including news releases, social media, and speaking remarks.
- Collaborate with Medavie and EMC communications colleagues to manage brand and reputation.
- Provide strategic communication advice to senior leaders and business partners.
- Minimum 6-10 years of experience in strategic communications, with a post-secondary education in Communications or Public Relations.
- Proven track record of delivering communications and media relations strategies in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience as a corporate spokesperson with extensive reputation and issue management experience.
- Ability to advise senior leaders and create approaches that address business demands and needs.
- Exceptional written communication skills, including editing and proofreading.
- Strong interpersonal, project management, and relationship-building skills.
