Responsibilities

  • Provide expert engineering solutions for municipal construction projects undertaken by the city.

  • Refine tender specifications for upcoming construction projects.
  • Represent the department at public meetings and engage with government officials on behalf of the city.
  • Oversee quality control testing services to guarantee project deliverables meet established standards.
  • Identify infrastructure deficiencies and propose strategic policies for maintenance and improvement.
  • Train and supervise Construction Inspectors, fostering a culture of excellence within the team.
  • Lead special projects involving external funding sources, maximizing opportunities for growth and development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in good standing.
  • Minimum five years of experience in municipal infrastructure projects.
  • Proficiency in computer systems and relevant engineering software applications.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational abilities and sound decision-making capabilities.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage fluctuating workloads effectively.
  • Valid Class G driver's license.
  • Completion of Supervisor Health and Safety Awareness training.
  • Commitment to a culture of safety and well-being in the workplace.
