Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Contract Administrator to join our team at Salter Pilon Architecture Inc. As a Contract Administrator, you will be responsible for ensuring that all construction work is completed in accordance with contract documents and codes.

Key Responsibilities

  • On-Site Representation: Be the primary point of contact between the construction site and our office, ensuring that all work is completed to the highest standards.
  • Contract Administration: Review and coordinate contract documents, including tender documents, contract documents, and issued for construction documents.
  • Site Meetings: Run construction meetings and take minutes, ensuring that all parties are informed and up-to-date.
  • Problem-Solving: Provide timely consultations to resolve problems that arise during the construction process.
  • Document Management: Issue information, site instructions, change orders, monthly progress payment certificates, and process contract close-outs.
  • Project Coordination: Coordinate all on-site activities and participate in meetings with all trades, staff, and clients.
  • Financial Management: Review project budgets, construction costs, and proposed change costs.
  • Document Production: Review, coordinate, and produce contract administration documents, including shop drawings, site instructions, proposed changes, and change orders.

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of Contract Administration or Construction Site Management experience with a focus on on-site work.
  • Education: Architectural or Engineering Degree, OAAAS, or College Diploma in Architectural Technology, Construction Management/Administration, or a related field.
  • Skills: Solid understanding of building systems, construction procedures, OBC with a focus on Part 3 buildings, city by-laws, and/or regulations as required.
  • Contract Knowledge: Experience with CCDC-2 (Stipulate Sum), CCDC-5 (Construction Management), and CCDC-14 (Design Build) contracts.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Software: Proficient skills in latest versions of Revit and Auto CAD and all Microsoft programs.
  • Teamwork: Proven ability to work independently and cooperatively with staff, clients, and contractors.
  • Driver's License: Possess a valid class G driver's license with access to a personal vehicle.
