Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the payroll department in executing employee compensation in accordance with organizational policies, legal requirements, and applicable collective agreements.
- Oversee payroll processing and approval.
- Manage the preparation and distribution of employee employment documentation.
- Draft and disseminate necessary correspondence.
- Calculate and validate contributions for union dues, retirement plans, and insurance.
- Maintain comprehensive guidelines for payroll processing.
- Act as a representative for the payroll division in discussions with upper management.
- Collaborate with various departments to address payroll-related data requirements.
- Ensure effective distribution of administrative and operational responsibilities within the team.
- Compile year-end payroll reports.
- Conduct monthly salary reconciliations, providing insights into any discrepancies relative to the annual budget.
- Perform any additional tasks essential for the smooth operation of the department.
Qualifications:
- Formal education in accounting, payroll management, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 10 years of pertinent experience.
- Experience within the construction industry is essential.
- Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite.
- Dynamic individual with strong multitasking abilities.
- Experience in managing personnel.
- Bilingual capabilities are advantageous.
- Standard 40-hour work week.
