About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Human Resources to join our team at Nova Scotia Community College. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our organization and driving our mission to deliver exceptional education and training to our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership across all HR functions, including talent acquisition, employee engagement, and organizational development.
  • Develop and implement forward-thinking policies and programs to attract, retain, and engage top talent.
  • Guide the College through transformational HR strategies, ensuring our workforce is agile, resilient, and future-ready.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders to drive business outcomes and achieve organizational goals.
  • Oversee the Human Resources department, providing guidance and support to a team of 24 HR professionals.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A strong background in human resources, with a minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience.
  • Proven experience in leading HR initiatives, including talent acquisition, employee engagement, and organizational development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with senior leaders, employees, and external stakeholders.
  • A strong understanding of HR best practices, including diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Experience with HR systems and technology, including payroll, benefits, and performance management.
