Job Summary

Oxford Learning Centres, Inc. is seeking a part-time mathematics educator to join our team. As a mathematics educator, you will work directly with students to help them develop their math skills and build their confidence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach math to students at various levels, including intermediate and high school
  • Follow the Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies
  • Fill in post-lesson notes and complete daily student communication updates
  • Maintain a friendly and professional manner at all times
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or similar certification in a relevant field
  • Fourth year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered
  • Teaching certification an asset
  • Good knowledge of the current Grades 3-12 math curriculum, particularly senior math and including, but not limited to, advanced functions, algebra, trigonometry and calculus, and vectors
Preferred Qualifications
  • Some experience teaching/tutoring math at a Grade 3 to 12 (or equivalent) level
  • Strong English written and oral communication skills
  • Strong math skills and ability to guide students' understanding
  • Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time
