OVERVIEW:

The primary responsibility of the Millwright is to execute essential Mechanical Maintenance tasks within the facility, ensuring safe and efficient production operations.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform mechanical maintenance duties as outlined by the Ontario Ministry of Colleges trade # 433A Industrial Mechanic Millwright.
  • Utilize and apply VCPS knowledge as required.
  • Ensure a clean and safe working environment.
  • Conduct job site clean-up activities.
  • Adhere to safe work practices at all times.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles in a clean and safe condition.
  • Complete all tasks related to the millwright trade as assigned.
  • Access equipment, parts, and work orders using the Maximo System.
  • Employ computer skills and related software to perform job functions effectively.
  • Attend safety meetings, results discussions, and plant general meetings as necessary.
  • Participate in the call-in system as required.

REPORTING LINE:

Reports directly to the Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor.


QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING:

  • Must possess a Certification of Qualification as a Millwright.
  • Demonstrate the physical strength and stamina to handle heavy equipment exceeding 25 kilograms (50 pounds).
  • Exhibit good coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to interpret layouts by reviewing plans and blueprints.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting mechanical systems.
  • Capable of working collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Required to wear and utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) including hard hats, safety glasses, green patch boots, gloves, respirators, face shields, welding helmets, harnesses, and lanyards.
  • Responsible for general equipment cleaning and maintaining housekeeping standards.

COMPENSATION:

Hourly wage of $44.04 plus an additional $3.00 per hour skilled trades premium.

Day shift with the flexibility to work 12-hour rotating shifts.
