Senior System Safety Engineer (Electric and Autonomous Systems)

Type: Full-time

Department: Functional Safety

CS Group Canada, a leading developer and certifier of safety-critical systems, is seeking a Senior System Safety Engineer with expertise in safety/mission-critical embedded systems to join our dynamic team.

As a key member of our team, you will contribute to the development of next-generation electric and autonomous on-road and off-road vehicles, leveraging your knowledge of safety and security analysis, hazard analysis, and risk assessments.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement safety and security analysis in accordance with industry standards, including ISO 26262 and IEC 61508.
  • Conduct hazard analysis and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential safety hazards throughout the system lifecycle.
  • Define safety goals and requirements for system components and subsystems, including hardware and software.
  • Perform safety analyses, including FMEA, FTA, DFA, and fault injection, to evaluate system safety performance and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Participate in technical discussions as part of business development efforts.
  • Review functional safety and cybersecurity work products.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • 10+ years experience in system safety engineering, with a focus on automotive systems.
  • Experience in hazard analysis and risk assessments (HARA / HAZOP).
  • Experience in system safety analysis type FMEA.
  • Experience with at least one of the following: ISO 26262, ISO 13849, IEC 61508.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
