Job Overview:

The Research Project Manager is tasked with overseeing the daily functions of various research initiatives, ensuring strict adherence to project protocols. This role involves leveraging specialized expertise to initiate, design, develop, coordinate, and manage significant research endeavors across multiple locations. Building collaborations and partnerships with research user groups is essential.

Key Responsibilities:


• Strategically plan and coordinate all facets of multiple research initiatives across diverse sites.


• Foster interdisciplinary, inter-institutional, and inter-sectoral research partnerships.


• Create and manage budgets for research initiatives.


• Identify and resolve challenges throughout the project lifecycle, adjusting protocols or procedures as necessary.


• Collaborate with a team to develop and author research protocols.


• Recruit participants for projects and collaborate with agencies for referrals.


• Review and track participant referrals from various sources.


• Formulate an implementation strategy for research projects.


• Design promotional strategies and materials to enhance participation and support for research initiatives.


• Conduct both quantitative and qualitative analyses of research findings.


• Interview project participants to gather insights.


• Facilitate focus group discussions with project participants.


• Oversee the collection, delivery, entry, verification, analysis, and reporting of data.


• Supervise the design of databases, data collection forms, error-checking methods, and related programs for data management.


• Utilize specialized knowledge and scientific principles to critically evaluate and interpret published research.


• Contribute to the writing of scientific papers, funding proposals, and abstracts.


• Estimate time and resource requirements for research projects.


• Employ statistical software for data analysis and result interpretation.


• Document data management and operational procedures for projects.


• Act as a liaison between the project center and remote project sites and personnel.


• Ensure compliance with relevant research methodologies and proper handling of research materials according to established protocols and policies.


• Develop and deliver presentations and training sessions for project personnel and participants.


• Keep project participants updated on progress through regular reports and newsletters.


• Manage research project budgets, creating financial forecasts and making necessary adjustments throughout the fiscal year.


• Implement appropriate controls, monitor, and reconcile accounts.


• Conduct literature reviews as needed.

Supervision Responsibilities:

Supervise and guide the activities of up to 4 permanent staff members. Responsible for hiring and overseeing 10 or more temporary staff at any given time. Provide orientation and training on procedures to new team members.

Qualifications:

A Master's degree in a relevant field. A minimum of 6 years of pertinent experience, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
