Marketing and Events Coordinator

PCL Constructors Canada Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Events and Marketing Student to join our Ottawa District team. As a key member of our Canadian Buildings Division, you will have the opportunity to work on challenging projects and develop your skills in event planning, marketing, and logistics.
Responsibilities- Assist in planning, organizing, and executing corporate and social events for 10-500 people, ensuring seamless execution and exceeding client expectations.
- Research and recommend suitable venues, vendors, and suppliers for various event needs, considering budget, quality, and logistics.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to create engaging event marketing materials, invitations, and promotional content that aligns with the company's brand identity.
- Assist in developing event budgets and tracking expenses, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with company policies.
- Support the logistics team in planning and facilitating event setup, teardown, and management, including contract negotiations, guest lists, venue preparation, presentation materials, security, catering, entertainment, transportation, equipment, decor, and marketing materials.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external vendors, suppliers, and partners to ensure smooth event execution and excellent customer service.
- Support the maintenance and consistency of the organization's brand identity across all marketing materials and communications, adhering to company guidelines and best practices.
- Working towards a degree or diploma in an events or marketing-related field (event management, marketing, hospitality, communications, business administration, etc).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders, including clients, vendors, and colleagues.
- Strong organization and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and think critically in fast-paced environments.
- Competency with Microsoft Office projects (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc) and experience with graphic or visual design an asset (Canva, Adobe Illustrator, etc).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality results and exceeding client expectations.
