Job Overview

CIMA+ is seeking a dedicated Project Engineer / Manager specializing in Conveyance to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the successful execution of projects that align with client objectives while maintaining profitability. You will also take a leadership role in promoting safety practices and fostering a culture of care within the organization. This position offers a hybrid work model, allowing for a combination of in-office collaboration and remote work.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Oversee project delivery for planning studies and both preliminary and detailed design phases for municipal water and wastewater conveyance projects.
  2. Engage in the preliminary and detailed design of site works to support the development of water and wastewater facilities.
  3. Coordinate and manage technical teams to ensure project deliverables meet established criteria including scope, budget, timelines, quality, health and safety, risk management, and change management.
  4. Support the Field Services team by providing guidance during construction phases.
  5. Mentor and develop the project team, including junior engineers and technical staff.
  6. Monitor, control, and report on project performance metrics.
  7. Ensure timely invoicing and effective cash flow management.
  8. Maintain consistent and effective communication with clients.
  9. Assist in business development efforts and strategic initiatives, including proposal preparation.
Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
  2. Possession of a P.Eng. designation in Ontario, or eligibility to obtain it.
  3. A minimum of 10 years of experience in the engineering design of water and wastewater conveyance systems.
  4. Proven expertise in project planning and design for water and wastewater conveyance, with a solid understanding of hydraulic principles.
  5. Experience working within multi-disciplinary project teams to prepare conceptual and detailed design documents, specifications, and approval applications.
  6. Strong technical writing abilities demonstrated through report and proposal writing experience.
  7. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  8. Ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
  9. Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  10. Capability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  11. Proficient in MS Office applications, including MS Project.
  12. Experience in mentoring junior staff is advantageous.
  13. Involvement with organizations such as OPWA, OWWA, or WEAO is considered a plus.
