CIMA+ is seeking a dedicated Project Engineer / Manager specializing in Conveyance to join our dynamic team. You will also take a leadership role in promoting safety practices and fostering a culture of care within the organization. This position offers a hybrid work model, allowing for a combination of in-office collaboration and remote work.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee project delivery for planning studies and both preliminary and detailed design phases for municipal water and wastewater conveyance projects.
- Engage in the preliminary and detailed design of site works to support the development of water and wastewater facilities.
- Coordinate and manage technical teams to ensure project deliverables meet established criteria including scope, budget, timelines, quality, health and safety, risk management, and change management.
- Support the Field Services team by providing guidance during construction phases.
- Mentor and develop the project team, including junior engineers and technical staff.
- Monitor, control, and report on project performance metrics.
- Ensure timely invoicing and effective cash flow management.
- Maintain consistent and effective communication with clients.
- Assist in business development efforts and strategic initiatives, including proposal preparation.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
- Possession of a P.Eng. designation in Ontario, or eligibility to obtain it.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in the engineering design of water and wastewater conveyance systems.
- Proven expertise in project planning and design for water and wastewater conveyance, with a solid understanding of hydraulic principles.
- Experience working within multi-disciplinary project teams to prepare conceptual and detailed design documents, specifications, and approval applications.
- Strong technical writing abilities demonstrated through report and proposal writing experience.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
- Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Capability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Proficient in MS Office applications, including MS Project.
- Experience in mentoring junior staff is advantageous.
- Involvement with organizations such as OPWA, OWWA, or WEAO is considered a plus.
