About the Role

As a Senior Manager, Guidewire Development, you will be responsible for leading the Guidewire Development team at Aviva. This is a key role that requires strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with globally distributed teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Guidewire Development team to deliver high-quality solutions that meet business requirements.
  • Collaborate with business analysts and product owners to review software requirements, challenge assumptions, and influence prioritization.
  • Design and develop architectural diagrams, high-level and detailed design documents, and estimates.
  • Work with project managers and product owners to adjust solutions to fit timelines and budgets.
  • Mentor team members on best practices and coach senior resources to become future leaders.
  • Set clear goals for team members, meet with them regularly, and provide feedback.
  • Hire talent by conducting technical and behavioral interviews.
Requirements
  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Strong communication skills required.
  • Guidewire Cloud Certification required and ACE preferred.
  • 2 years of most recent Guidewire Claims domain and technical hands-on experience.
  • Understand Cloud Technologies and experience in leading Cloud programs.
  • Minimum 8 years hands-on experience of GW Integration Development (Expertise in GOSU, Rules Engine, Data Model, API development).
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in GW integration development using GOSU with PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, ContactManager, and ClaimCenter.
  • Minimum 8 years in architecting integration of GW PC/BC/CM/CC/Digital product with internal and external systems/applications.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience building Micro-services architecture, Event-driven architecture, and patterns.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience GW Edge API and its customization.
  • Agile software development, including the use of Git, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Jira, Confluence.
  • Domain knowledge on Property & Casualty Insurance.
