We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Dental Hygienist to join our well-established downtown practice. This is a permanent, full-time position that offers a supportive and professional environment for delivering exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement dental hygiene treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs, prioritizing patient oral health.
- Ensure the highest standards of patient care, adhering to best practices for infection control, including instrument processing and treatment room maintenance.
- Conduct medical health history screenings and updates, as well as baseline and routine assessments, including full mouth charting, probing, and oral cancer screening.
- Take radiographs and impressions as prescribed by the Dentist, and intraoral photos.
- Identify conditions and oral diseases such as gingivitis, caries, or periodontitis, and develop patient-specific preventive dental care plans.
- Provide oral hygiene instruction, plaque control guidance, and postoperative instructions as required.
- Maintain accurate documentation and charting.
- Identify scheduling gaps and assist with scheduling, including booking preventive recall appointments and following up on outstanding treatment plans.
- Collaborate with colleagues during downtime, and attend continuing education events as needed.
- Diploma or Degree in Dental Hygiene.
- Registered Dental Hygienist in good standing with the CDHO.
- At least 2 years of experience as a Dental Hygienist.
- Experience ensuring infection control and making assessments of oral health, hard tissue, periodontal conditions, and oral hygiene care.
- Experience with different types of intraoral radiographs and their interpretation.
- Ability to gather client health history information and assess risks associated with treatment plans.
- Training in Covid-19 IPAC regulations in client care.
- Experience with Dental software such as SAPPHIRE, Tracker, and Abeldent.
