Job Title: Supervisor, Cleaning and Maintenance

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Supervisor, Cleaning and Maintenance to join our team at Compass Group Canada.

Job Summary:

The Supervisor, Cleaning and Maintenance will be responsible for overseeing the cleaning and maintenance operations of our facilities, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our employees and clients. This role will involve supervising a team of cleaning staff, coordinating activities, and maintaining financial records.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of cleaning staff, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Inspect facilities to ensure safety and cleanliness standards are met.
  • Prepare budget and cost estimates for cleaning and maintenance operations.
  • Recommend additional services required, such as painting, repair work, or replacement of furnishings and equipment.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and receive payment for specialized cleaning jobs.
  • Assist cleaners in performing duties and coordinate work activities with other departments.
  • Establish work schedules and supervise a team of 5-10 people.
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a supervisory role.
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate.
  • Basic security clearance and a criminal record check.
Work Environment:

This is a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, requiring strong organizational and time management skills. The successful candidate will be physically demanding, with a combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, and handling heavy loads.
