Position Summary: We are seeking a qualified Signals and Communication Foreperson to join our team in Western Canada for the upcoming maintenance and construction season. In this role, you will collaborate with a dedicated team to perform moderate to heavy physical tasks related to the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of railway signaling and communication systems. You will also be responsible for responding to emergencies and track outages.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure adherence to all safety policies and procedures established by REMCAN and our clients.
  • Demonstrate expertise in all facets of railway operations and signaling systems.
  • Perform physical labor and technical tasks associated with S&C systems.
  • Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Be prepared to work various shifts, including weekends and nights, as necessary.
  • Travel to remote job sites as required.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in the railway industry, specifically in S&C systems.
  • Basic understanding of electrical fundamentals; an Electrical Technician diploma is advantageous.
  • Experience operating heavy machinery both on and off the tracks is preferred.
  • Possession of a valid Class 5 or Class G driver's license and the ability to provide a driver's abstract.
  • Knowledge of and recent qualification in Canadian Railway Operating Rules (CROR).
  • Must successfully complete eRailSafe Canada certification.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment medical examination, including drug and alcohol testing.
  • Willingness to work in various weather conditions throughout the year.
