About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Psychiatric Nurse to join our Complex Medical Detox team at Alberta Health Services. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide holistic, comprehensive care to patients with complex medical needs compromised by detoxification.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership in nursing assessment, planning, implementing, and evaluating care.
  • Complete assessments, interventions, documentation, and plan both hospital and continuing/community-based care for patients with complex medical needs.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to deliver patient-centered care and meet the goals of our clients.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest evidence-based practices and guidelines in psychiatric nursing.
Requirements
  • Completion of an accredited Psychiatric nursing education program.
  • Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Alberta (CRPNA).
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in medical/surgical acute care, with a preference for those who have experience working with Addiction & Mental Health populations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with intravenous infusions, direct IV medication administration, phlebotomy, and critical care knowledge.
