Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and skilled addiction and mental health professional to join our interdisciplinary Assertive Community Treatment Team (ACT) as a Registered Psychiatric Nurse/Registered Nurse. The successful candidate will provide assertive, client-focused, culturally appropriate, evidenced-based, recovery-oriented care to adults experiencing severe and persistent mental illness, addictions, and houselessness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide assertive, client-focused, culturally appropriate, evidenced-based, recovery-oriented care to adults experiencing severe and persistent mental illness, addictions, and houselessness.
  • Work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary ACT team to provide comprehensive care to clients.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans that address the unique needs and goals of each client.
  • Provide education and support to clients and their families to promote recovery and wellness.
  • Collaborate with community agencies and providers to ensure seamless care coordination and access to resources.
Requirements
  • Completion of an accredited Psychiatric nursing education program.
  • Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Alberta (CRPNA).
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant addiction and mental health experience, preferably in a community setting.
  • Critical thinking skills, working knowledge on the management of concurrent disorders and medical co-morbidities, and the principles of chronic disease management and recovery.
  • Advanced knowledge and skill in the areas of evidenced-based assessment and treatment of mental illness and addiction.
