Northern Health Authority is seeking a skilled and proactive Tele-Care Administrative Coordinator to assist the Primary & Community Care division.

Aligned with Northern Health's vision for an integrated service model, the Tele-Care Administrative Coordinator plays a vital role within the Tele-Care interprofessional team.

As a key team member, the Tele-Care Administrative Coordinator is dedicated to aiding healthcare providers and the Tele-Care team in delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality primary care services through virtual support.

This role encompasses both operational and administrative responsibilities within the virtual Tele-Care clinic, adhering to Northern Health's policies and protocols.

The Tele-Care Administrative Coordinator is tasked with managing workspace in the Medical Office Information System (MOIS). This includes formatting and dispatching consultations to primary care providers across the Northern Health region and occasionally beyond; verifying and sending lab requisitions to the nearest testing facilities; assisting with public health and Medical Health Officer (MHO) appointment requests; following up on inquiries regarding lab requisitions and test outcomes from patients, providers, and testing sites; issuing sick notes to patients and helping them access their secure messages; and ensuring all calls are completed or appropriately transitioned to the next provider.

Additionally, the Coordinator must ensure consistency in appointment scheduling, confirming that appointments are accurately reflected on the correct date and daybook, and are scheduled or rescheduled as necessary.

Qualifications
  • Completion of Grade 12.
  • Graduation from an accredited Community College Office Assistant Course, plus two years of recent, relevant experience in a healthcare environment.
  • Alternatively, an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • A clinical background is preferred.
