About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned professional to join our team as Vice President, Corporate Development at People Corporation. As a key member of our corporate development team, you will play a critical role in driving our growth strategy through mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and business development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Market Research and Lead Generation: Conduct thorough market research to identify potential acquisition targets in the Property & Casualty Insurance sector, with a focus on Ontario.
  • Relationship Building and Qualification: Establish relationships with key decision-makers at identified prospects, determine their relative attractiveness and propensity to transact, and qualify leads for further pursuit.
  • Relationship Planning and Development: Create tailored relationship plans to advance relationships with identified prospects through regular follow-ups, ongoing communication, and relationship development activities.
  • Value Proposition and Pitch Development: Articulate the value proposition of partnering with People Corporation to encourage new and existing prospects to pursue a transaction.
  • Prospect Database Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date prospect information within our CRM system.
  • Reporting and Metrics: Provide regular and periodic reporting to the Chief Corporate Development Officer on origination activity and key metrics.
  • Collaboration and Coordination: Work closely with other members of the People Corporation management team and professionals to advance origination activities.
  • Transaction Evaluation and Due Diligence: Participate in the evaluation of potential prospects/transactions, including qualitative and quantitative analyses.
  • Transaction Support and Communication: Provide continuous relationship support through the transaction process while maintaining effective communication with the prospect to gather input and feedback for the transaction team.
Requirements
  • Business Development and Sales Experience: 10-15 years of experience in business development and sales, with a proven track record of sourcing and closing deals.
  • Industry Experience: Prior experience in the Property & Casualty Insurance, Financial Services, or Professional Services sectors.
  • M&A Experience: Experience in mergers and acquisitions or exposure to the M&A process, with the ability to articulate the process to prospects.
