About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned professional to join our team as Vice President, Corporate Development at People Corporation. As a key member of our corporate development team, you will play a critical role in driving our growth strategy through mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and business development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Market Research and Sourcing: Conduct thorough market research to identify potential acquisition targets in the Property & Casualty Insurance sector, with a focus on Ontario.
  • Relationship Building: Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including potential acquisition targets, vendors, and industry partners.
  • Business Development: Develop and execute business development strategies to drive growth through M&A and strategic partnerships.
  • Deal Evaluation: Participate in the evaluation of potential acquisition targets, including qualitative and quantitative analyses.
  • Due Diligence: Conduct preliminary due diligence and internal discussions regarding transaction rationale, vendor preferences, and assessment of prospect's business.
  • Relationship Support: Provide continuous relationship support through the transaction process, maintaining effective communication with stakeholders to gather input and feedback.
Requirements
  • Business Development Experience: 10-15 years of business development/sales experience with a proven track record sourcing and closing deals.
  • Industry Knowledge: Prior experience in the P&C insurance/benefits, financial services, or professional services sectors.
  • M&A Experience: M&A experience or exposure to and interest in the M&A process, with the ability to articulate the process to stakeholders.
  • Entrepreneurial Spirit: Possess an entrepreneurial spirit, be resourceful in your approach, and be self-motivated, with a commitment to meeting deadlines.
