Position Overview

We are thrilled to announce an opportunity for an Environmental Safety Specialist to join our team. This role is crucial in supporting our operations in the power generation field.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage with local, provincial, and federal authorities to address permitting challenges.
  • Offer technical guidance and support to both contractors and internal teams.
  • Assist station personnel in resolving technical issues as required.
  • Oversee the management of the station's technical documentation and support systems.
  • Utilize essential programs to assess plant performance effectively.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with all levels of staff, both verbally and in writing.
  • Maintain precise records of monitored statistics.
  • Demonstrate the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Qualifications
  • Must be a resident of Canada.
  • Experience with Canadian provincial and federal air emissions regulations and environmental reporting.
  • Ability to facilitate daily communication of expectations and provide constructive feedback while collaborating with plant personnel.
  • Possess a high degree of adaptability and the ability to thrive in a dynamic and evolving environment.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, along with strong organizational and interpersonal abilities, are essential.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to engage in extensive walking, sitting, and repetitive motions throughout the workday.
  • Capable of managing the typical sounds associated with an operational power facility.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety Management or Environmental Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with a comprehensive understanding of Environmental regulations and Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety standards.
