Job Title: Hospital Admissions Clerk

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Hospital Admissions Clerk to join our team at the Northern Regional Health Authority.

Job Summary:

The Hospital Admissions Clerk will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to patients, families, and healthcare providers. This role will involve greeting patients, directing them to contacts or service areas, and providing basic information to clients and the public.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Greet patients and families, and direct them to the appropriate contact or service area.
  • Provide basic information to clients and the public, including hospital policies and procedures.
  • Obtain and process information required to provide customer service, such as patient demographics and medical history.
  • Operate the switchboard or telephone system, answering calls and relaying messages to staff members.
  • Perform clerical duties, such as filing, sorting, and distributing mail.
  • Answer telephone calls and relay messages to staff members.
  • Calculate billing charges and process payments.
  • Monitor mobile radio or telephone systems.
  • Provide directory assistance and relay service to persons with disabilities.
  • Perform data entry and maintain accurate records.
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and database software.
