OVERVIEW:

The Senior Director of Operations is responsible for crafting, executing, and evaluating operational strategies that enhance efficiency and support the fulfillment of organizational objectives. This role encompasses budget management, resource optimization, collaboration with various management levels, and performance metric assessment to promote ongoing improvement. The Senior Director of Operations will be instrumental in strategic planning and decision-making processes aimed at fostering growth and profitability within our Parts & Service division. This position is vital in aligning operational functions with the broader goals of the organization and will report directly to the Vice President of Operations.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Certification:

• Completion of a degree in Business Administration or a related field, or a combination of education, training, and equivalent experience
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Valid passport or the ability to obtain one

Experience:

• Over 10 years of experience in an operational management capacity within the Heavy, Industrial, or Agricultural equipment dealership sector
• Demonstrated success in leading and managing multiple branches/teams to meet or exceed financial and operational objectives
• Strong mechanical understanding with knowledge of parts and equipment repair processes
• Accountability for managing P&Ls across multiple locations with a proven ability to achieve financial results
• Advanced proficiency in MS Office and dealer management software
• Experience in creating and executing plans to meet organizational goals
• Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with employees, peers, suppliers, and customers

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Collaborate with direct reports and management in the formulation of annual operating plans (AOP) that include solid business strategies tailored to the needs of each department, location, and region
• Work with Regional Directors to identify, develop, and implement company-wide strategies that ensure a consistent approach across the organization while adapting to local market conditions
• Continuously evaluate and report on performance against the AOP
• Partner with Regional Directors and business analysts to regularly assess branch KPIs and devise plans to enhance and achieve forecasted results
• Analyze the performance and challenges of operational teams and provide insights and recommendations to the Executive team on necessary adjustments, improvements, and investments to meet budget and company objectives
• Participate in the monthly and quarterly reporting requirements of operational teams, ensuring timely and accurate data
• Drive and support the implementation of best-practice initiatives to maximize efficiency, consistency, and productivity across operational teams
• Collaborate with Regional Directors and key stakeholders from each department to manage process issues, develop teams to align with company objectives, and meet market needs
• Understand the market landscape and evaluate short- and long-term business development opportunities
• Work with Regional Directors to identify and oversee facility improvement/capital purchase requests and provide recommendations to the Executive team regarding cost analysis, lease renewals, renovations, and relocations
• Lead or participate in various company projects or initiatives within the Parts and Service divisions that support profitable growth
• Collaborate with business leaders to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of corporate programs and processes
• Ensure adherence to Corporate compliance and SOPs across the organization
• Manage operational support teams and implement effective processes and programs to optimize resources for both employees and customers
• Provide coaching and guidance to direct reports and offer regular feedback on performance, both informally and through the company's annual performance review process
• Assume various operational leadership roles as needed to address short-term gaps or assignments
