Your Opportunity:
In the role of Lead Financial Strategist, you will collaborate with various departments to ensure that financial transactions comply with established accounting standards and institutional policies. Your expertise in financial analysis will be crucial as you navigate complex financial scenarios, applying your knowledge of accounting principles to address diverse challenges. Exceptional communication skills and professionalism are essential in this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage financial oversight of budgets, including strategic planning, analysis, and forecasting.
  • Provide guidance to staff regarding accounting practices and institutional financial policies.
  • Interpret and apply policies to make informed, independent decisions.
  • Forecast and plan financial activities, integrating budgets from multiple revenue sources.
  • Implement process improvements for financial administration.
  • Adhere to the University Guide to Financial Management and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Identify and resolve data discrepancies effectively.
  • Stay updated on changes to policies, procedures, and applicable legislation.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field, or equivalent experience; professional accounting designation is an asset.
  • A minimum of five years of relevant experience in financial budgeting and accounting.
  • Proven experience with budget management, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Ability to perform complex financial modeling and analysis.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to address critical issues independently.
  • Experience interacting with various organizational levels.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (including advanced functions and pivot tables).
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with SAP is advantageous.
  • Background in cost accounting is beneficial.
