Position: Senior Financial Analyst

We are seeking a proactive Senior Financial Analyst to enhance our Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team. As an integral member of our Finance Department, you will report directly to the Finance Director. Your responsibilities will include supporting forecasting, budgeting, and financial analysis initiatives, providing essential insights to senior leadership regarding financial and operational performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop weekly and monthly forecasts, identifying variances from actual results, prior periods, and budget expectations.
  • Collaborate with department leaders to understand key business drivers and construct financial models for revenue, expenses, and operational metrics forecasting.
  • Assist in the creation and evaluation of the annual financial and operational budget.
  • Conduct comprehensive variance analysis between budget, forecast, and actual figures, accompanied by insightful commentary.
  • Perform financial and operational analysis and prepare monthly business reporting (MBR) packages.
  • Design PowerPoint presentations for monthly meetings with senior management.
  • Support month-end closing activities, including journal voucher preparation, financial statement review, and balance sheet analysis.
  • Assist in the review of balance sheet accounts and bank reconciliations.
  • Enhance existing processes by recommending improvements and implementing process automation.
  • Handle additional ad-hoc projects as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA designation is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in financial planning and analysis, including:
    • Expertise in forecasting and budget development.
    • Demonstrated proficiency in financial modeling.
    • Ability to summarize complex financial data for non-financial stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation abilities.
  • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with SQL, BI Publisher, and Oracle Cloud.
  • Experience in the transportation industry.
