Position Summary:

The Senior Financial Advisor will report to the Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis and will be responsible for delivering comprehensive financial support for intricate program portfolios across various operational and business landscapes. This role involves managing financial processes and projects within the designated program or division, collaborating with team members and other services to provide senior leadership with expert financial and business advice.

This position requires the integration and interpretation of financial and clinical data to facilitate effective program management. The Senior Financial Advisor will engage with clients to assess their needs, analyze data, and make informed recommendations, aligning financial and operational priorities with available resources and standards.

Key Qualifications:

  • Completion of a professional designation program (CPA) with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience or equivalent progressive experience.
  • Strong understanding of accounting standards.
  • MIS Certification from OHA is preferred.
  • Experience in developing annual budgets and linking them to program operating and strategic plans.
  • Proven ability to analyze business performance and create business cases.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment.
  • Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills and ability to network with stakeholders.
  • Experience with MOH Reporting, MIS Guidelines, and OCDM is preferred.
  • Proficient in Excel (including pivot tables), Word, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities:

  • Foster partnerships to lead financial advisors and enabling team members within a large division, ensuring comprehensive and standardized reporting.
  • Oversee multi-sector ministry reporting and audit processes across various programs.
  • Collaborate with leadership on the development of annual operating budgets, identifying efficiencies and implementing strategic priorities.
  • Educate leaders on financial processes and accountabilities.
  • Build strong relationships with programs to understand their operations, funding models, and resource needs.
  • Provide strategic direction and input into innovative program ideas while supporting change initiatives.
  • Ensure alignment of program decision-making with organizational strategies.
  • Review and present operational results to identify significant variances and develop action plans for compliance.
  • Assist in month-end and year-end revenue recognition, reconciliations, and reporting.
  • Collaborate with various departments to gather and track expenses related to specific projects.
