Senior Program Manager for Global Security AccountsPosition Overview
The Senior Program Manager for Global Security Accounts is responsible for leading the strategy related to security equipment and vendor management, focusing on portfolio development, value generation, and financial strategy, as well as key business transformation initiatives. This role plays a critical part in supporting significant activities and deliverables within the long-term strategic planning framework. The Senior Program Manager conducts competitive intelligence and in-depth analysis of market and technological advancements. This position collaborates closely with finance, legal, and procurement teams to ensure alignment of security strategies with corporate objectives.
In this role, you will work with regional and cross-functional teams to address and resolve customer and operational challenges. You will oversee budget planning and management, maintain infrastructure, support customer escalations, and apply industry best practices.
The Senior Program Manager for Global Security Accounts will facilitate and nurture relationships between Equinix and its vendors/partners, establishing standards for vendor performance and identifying the most suitable vendors. This role is crucial in cultivating and sustaining partnerships within the security community.
Key Responsibilities
- Vendor Selection: Research and identify qualified vendors to fulfill organizational requirements.
- Quality Assurance: Establish work standards and assess vendor performance.
- Delivery Management: Ensure timely delivery of resources.
- Issue Resolution: Maintain accurate documentation and streamline operational processes.
- Partnership Development: Build and maintain quality relationships with vendors as integral components of our value stream.
- Security Catalog Management: Own and oversee the security catalog, including equipment, manufacturers, services, and vendors.
- Sourcing: Identify potential sources for offerings, evaluate options, and select the best fit for the organization.
Leadership Duties
- Provide strategic guidance and direction to achieve team objectives.
- Establish a clear vision, communicate effectively with the team, and ensure alignment.
- Offer coaching and mentorship to team members.
- Exemplify the values of Equinix and set a positive example for the team.
- Support regional teams by collaborating with counterparts.
Communication Responsibilities
- Facilitate internal and external communications, ensuring relevant stakeholders are engaged and informed about initiatives.
- Deliver data-driven presentations tailored to various audiences.
- Disseminate key business information to the team.
- Assist in root cause analysis and resolution of physical security system incidents.
Financial Management Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the team and regional counterparts to analyze resource, system, license, supplier, project, and maintenance needs.
- Plan, implement, and manage OPEX and CAPEX budgets, ensuring alignment with Equinix's KPIs and OKRs.
Project Leadership Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain relationships with key suppliers to meet business needs, holding them to high standards.
- Prioritize, plan, track, manage, and measure team productivity and output.
- Communicate project status to key stakeholders and regional leadership.
Security Responsibilities
- Provide support for security systems within data center operations, addressing complex issues and installation efforts.
- Respond to customer RFPs and RFIs.
- Ensure compliance with Equinix's standards and operational KPIs and OKRs.
Qualifications
- Experience in the security industry.
- Proficient in collecting functional requirements for technology hardware and software.
- Experience in program, project, or portfolio management within a large organization.
- Experience working with category management, procurement, and vendor management teams.
- Degree in physical security systems, data centers, engineering, or business management, or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years of experience in product strategy or business development within a data center or technology company is preferred.
- Ability to derive insights through quantitative and qualitative analysis and formulate hypotheses based on data.
- Strong experience in managing and influencing stakeholders across various functional areas.
- Capability to provide thought leadership, think strategically, and effectively communicate vision and influence others.
