Manulife and John Hancock are seeking highly motivated and analytical individuals to join our Actuarial Development Program. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills and expertise in actuarial science, working on complex business problems and contributing to the success of our organization.

Program Overview
  • Rotate through various actuarial roles, including Pricing, Valuation, Experience Analytics, Risk Management, and more.
  • Receive formal support through your FSA/FCIA journey, including paid study time off, financial support for modules, exams, and study materials.
  • Progress through the actuarial exams and take on increasing levels of responsibility and compensation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and price insurance and annuity products.
  • Establish actuarial assumptions, quantify reserves, and meet regulatory and capital requirements.
  • Provide analysis and advice to business partners to help meet strategic goals.
  • Collaborate with management to identify risks and opportunities and take initiatives to improve business performance.
  • Support a culture of continuous improvement through ongoing analysis of procedures and actuarial methodologies.
Requirements
  • Working towards a University degree in Actuarial Science, Math, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Possessing relevant actuarial experience and demonstrating a strong commitment towards FSA/FCIA designations.
  • Well-developed interpersonal, organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Solution-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-starter and team player with a high level of initiative and strong work ethic.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Excel and experience with AXIS or other actuarial software is an asset.
