Business Development Director

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Business Development Director to join our team at University of Toronto Press. As a key member of our Publishing leadership team, you will be responsible for driving business growth and development across our products and services.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute business development strategies to drive revenue growth and expand our market presence.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, partners, and internal teams.
- Lead and manage a high-performing sales team, responsible for recruitment, retention, and development of sales talent.
- Develop and implement data-driven sales and revenue plans to drive business growth and profitability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and capitalize on new business opportunities.
- Manage and analyze sales data to inform business decisions and drive continuous improvement.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with key internal stakeholders, including marketing, distribution, and editorial teams.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments, and identify opportunities to leverage new technologies and platforms to drive business growth.
- Post-secondary graduate, business degree preferred.
- 7-10 years of experience in sales, revenue generation, strategy, and business development, including staff management, in publishing or related field.
- Proven track record of building and leading high-performing sales teams, driving business growth and revenue expansion.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to analyze sales data and drive business decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines.
