Environmental Engineer Opportunity at WSP Canada

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Engineer to join our Mine Water & Environment team in Vancouver. As an Environmental Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting and leading contaminated site remediation projects, with a focus on legacy and abandoned mine sites in Canada and globally.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support and lead contaminated site remediation projects, including contaminant characterization, permitting, and remediation design
  • Develop and implement remediation designs, with a focus on mine sites
  • Conduct site characterization studies to evaluate sources of contamination
  • Plan and coordinate field visits with project management and client teams
  • Oversee the delivery of reports to clients, from concept to review and submission
  • Develop conceptual models and support data management and interpretation
Requirements:
  • 7+ years of experience in contaminated site investigation and remediation, with a focus on mine sites
  • Registered or eligible for professional registration as a Registered Professional Engineer/Geoscientist or other applicable professional regulatory body
  • Project management experience and experience reporting on contaminant characterization, remediation design, and mine remediation
  • Familiarity with development of technical specifications and design drawings for contaminant remediation projects
  • Understanding of environmental chemistry, geology, and contaminant fate and transport
