Job Title: Senior Rock Mechanics Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Rock Mechanics Engineer to join our team at Newmont Goldcorp Canada. As a key member of our Mine Engineering department, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise in rock mechanics and ground control to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our mines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement rock mechanics and ground control plans to mitigate geological hazards and ensure mine stability.
  • Conduct numerical modeling and analysis to determine rock mass behavior and optimize mine design.
  • Collaborate with operations teams to develop and implement ground support recommendations and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Lead and participate in business improvement projects to enhance rock mechanics and ground control practices.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including operations teams, regulatory bodies, and external partners.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Geological Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in rock mechanics and ground control, with a strong background in numerical modeling and analysis.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing effective rock mechanics and ground control plans.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in 3D numerical modeling software, including Map3D.
Working Conditions:
