After School Childcare Assistant

Job Summary
Provide consistent supervision and interaction with children, planning and participating in daily activities for small groups.
HoursAs determined by the school administration.
Essential Duties- Arrive promptly and remain for the designated time period.
- Continuously supervise children, ensuring they are never unattended.
- Assist children with hygiene needs as required.
- Provide support to children with assignments and activities.
- Collaborate with the site supervisor in delivering daily services and preparing reports.
- Coordinate planned activities as directed by the site supervisor.
- Assist in distributing snacks, supplies, and other materials.
- Refer serious disciplinary issues to the site supervisor.
- Attend all staff meetings and training sessions related to after-school programs.
Perform any additional duties assigned by the site supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)- High School Diploma
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with students and their parents
- Understanding of the physical, mental, and emotional development of young children
- Certification in Red Cross First Aid and CPR/AED
- A positive attitude towards working with children
This position demands numerous physical tasks while interacting with children. While performing the duties of this job, employees may be required to stand, walk, bend, run, stoop, lift, and more. Some of the physical demands include:
- Physically capable of lifting 40 pounds
- Sufficient mobility to ensure student safety and participate in activities
- Ability to remain active for extended periods
- Able to hear and understand speech at normal levels and on the telephone
