Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced After School Childcare Worker to join our team at Horry County Schools. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing continuous supervision and interaction with children, planning and participating in activities, and ensuring the overall well-being of our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise children constantly, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
  • Assist children with daily activities, such as homework and hygiene needs.
  • Participate in planning and implementing activities that promote social, emotional, and cognitive development.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and school administrators to ensure seamless transitions and coordination.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Knowledge of child development principles and practices.
  • Certification in Red Cross first aid and CPR/AED.
Work Environment

The successful candidate will work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, interacting with students, parents, and colleagues on a daily basis. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to providing exceptional customer service.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds or more.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move quickly in response to student needs.
  • Ability to hear and understand speech at normal levels.
Pay Grade

This position is classified as a 101 pay grade.
