We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Human Rights Officer to join our team and play a vital role in ensuring these values are upheld throughout the organization.

Your Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough and impartial investigations into allegations of harassment or discrimination, adhering to TDSB policies, procedures, and relevant legislation.
  • Facilitate mediation processes to resolve complaints effectively and promote amicable resolutions between parties involved.
  • Provide expert guidance and support to staff, students, parents, and other stakeholders on human rights matters, including the interpretation of policies and procedures.
  • Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs on conflict resolution, investigation techniques, and mediation strategies for senior administrators and staff.
  • Collaborate with internal departments, such as Employee Services and Legal Counsel, to address complex complaints and grievances.
  • Analyze trends in human rights incidents and develop proactive strategies to prevent future occurrences.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures that promote a culture of respect, inclusivity, and human rights.

Your Qualifications

We are seeking an individual with a strong commitment to human rights principles and a proven track record in conflict resolution. A relevant degree or certification in Human Rights, Labour Relations, or a related field is preferred.
