The Regional Manager for Safer Care is accountable for the strategic planning, operational functionality, and lifecycle management of SaferCare Clinical Information Systems (CIS) utilized for overseeing operations and delivering healthcare services across Northern Health facilities.
These systems are integral for healthcare providers, nursing staff, allied health professionals, support personnel, and operational managers.The Regional Manager plays a crucial role within the SaferCare management team and is involved in key leadership and project committees, acting as the regional liaison among clinical leaders, Information Management Information Technology (IMIT), Biomedical Engineering, vendors, and partners. This ensures that SaferCare CIS services are developed, executed, and sustained in alignment with Northern Health's practices and strategic objectives.
As a leader in health informatics, the Regional Manager oversees IMIT personnel, project deliverables, and stakeholder relationships, working collaboratively to promote healthcare transformation.
The Regional Manager employs a framework of people, processes, and technology to enhance health services in rural areas.The starting salary for this position ranges from $106,026 to $132,533, depending on education, training, experience, and comparative salaries for similar roles.

- Baccalaureate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Health Informatics, Nursing, Health Information Sciences, or Business Administration, plus a minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience with information systems, including at least two (2) years in a project management, technical supervision, or management role, with prior experience leading or managing enterprise systems in a complex multi-site environment, preferably with integrated electronic health record-based hospital information systems, and a proven track record of leading and managing large, high-profile implementation projects.
- Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Current valid BC Driver's License.
- Proven leadership and management capabilities.
- Familiarity with Clinical Information Systems, Application Life Cycle, and ITIL methodologies.
- Understanding of information and knowledge management principles, including information sharing, quality, and FOIPPA privacy legislation.
- Ability to learn and implement new information systems effectively.
- Adaptability to manage shifting priorities and scopes of work.
- Ability to communicate technical and/or clinical issues to non-technical or non-clinical users clearly.
- Capacity to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Proven ability to build and maintain client relationships and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver results under pressure and manage concurrent projects.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present to groups.
- Ability to lead teams through information system and workflow changes.
- Capability to develop and deliver training programs.
- Organizational and prioritization skills.
- Proficiency in Office Systems (e.g., Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Visio).
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
- Willingness to travel within Northern Health's geographic region.
