Position Overview

The Bookkeeper plays a crucial role in maintaining the financial integrity of the organization. This position involves a variety of responsibilities related to financial documentation and reporting.

Educational Requirements
  • Completion of a secondary (high) school graduation certificate is required.
Key Responsibilities
  • Calculate and prepare payroll cheques.
  • Maintain and balance various accounts using both manual and computerized bookkeeping systems.
  • Oversee general ledgers and prepare financial statements.
  • Compile statistical, financial, and accounting reports as needed.
  • Prepare trial balances for financial records.
Experience Requirements
  • Minimum of 1 year to less than 2 years of relevant experience is required.
Support for Indigenous Communities
  • Engage in community programs that support Indigenous peoples.
  • Provide mentorship and networking opportunities for Indigenous workers.
  • Build and maintain relationships with Indigenous communities and organizations.
  • Deliver cultural competency training to foster an inclusive workplace.
  • Facilitate access to Elders for guidance and support.
