About the Role

As an Investment Analyst or Senior Investment Professional, you will play a key role in our Natural Resources Investments team. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Investment Analysis and Execution

    Conduct thorough analysis of investment opportunities, meeting with industry experts and partners to gather insights and prepare comprehensive reports.

  • Due Diligence and Risk Assessment

    Perform in-depth due diligence on potential investments, identifying key merits and risks, and collaborating with management teams and third-party consultants to inform investment decisions.

  • Financial Modeling and Valuation

    Develop detailed financial models, including sensitivity analyses, financial projections, and valuation assumptions, to support investment recommendations.

  • Investment Recommendation and Presentation

    Participate in the preparation of investment recommendation memorandums and present findings to various committees as required.

  • Industry Representation and Networking

    Represent the NR Team across the Timber, Agriculture, Seafood, and Investment Industries, engaging with industry experts, consultants, peers, and players to build relationships and stay informed on industry trends.

  • Investment Portfolio Management

    Monitor financial and operating results, interact with management and operating partners, and work alongside management teams of portfolio companies to create value.

Requirements

  • Education and Experience

    University degree with strong academic standing and professional designation (CFA an asset). Experience in private investments, investment banking, consulting, corporate finance, equity research, or in a natural resources company is considered a strong asset.

  • Skills and Competencies

    Superior level of proficiency with business software and analytical tools, strong financial skills, including experience in building financial models, and familiar with financial statements. Project management skills, ability to meet tight deadlines, strong communication and presentation skills, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Language and Culture

    Good attention to detail and presentation of information. Good communications skills in English and French (or willingness to learn).
