Job Overview
The Business Development Representative will serve as a key liaison between Wawanesa and our brokerage network, fostering strong relationships and driving business growth. This role will involve collaborating with contracted brokers to develop and achieve targeted business goals, as well as identifying opportunities to expand our presence in new territories and brokerages.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain effective communication channels with Wawanesa and brokerage staff to ensure seamless collaboration and issue resolution.
- Work closely with functional departments and management teams to achieve business plans and goals, including training sessions, meeting facilitation, and underwriting plan implementation.
- Stay up-to-date on market trends, products, and competitor activity to inform business decisions and drive growth.
- Assess non-contracted brokerage opportunities and territories to identify potential for expansion and growth.
- Liaise with Marketing and Business Development departments as required to ensure alignment and effective collaboration.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the success of the business.
Requirements
- 5 years of relevant insurance experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
- Strong planning and organizational skills, with the ability to monitor performance and results.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to adapt to different audiences.
- Good team player with a focus on quality contributions and collaboration.
- Insurance Designation considered an asset.
- Post-secondary education in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field considered an asset.
