Gas and Oil Operations Specialist

Position Overview:
The primary role involves active participation as a vital team member in the management and upkeep of our gas and oil production sites and facilities. The operations team collaborates closely to ensure the reliability and safety of equipment and pipeline operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and adhere to the policies, objectives, and initiatives of Cenovus's Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Management System.
- Prioritize Health, Safety, and Environmental considerations in all tasks undertaken within the designated area of responsibility. Promote and model behaviors that foster a safety culture where unsafe acts and conditions are reported for corrective action.
- Understand and execute safety, environmental, and regulatory duties, including hazard identification, equipment lockout procedures, emergency response, and the implementation of safe work practices.
- Conduct housekeeping, performance monitoring, and maintenance tasks as required.
Candidate Profile:
- Familiarity with Cenovus's Health and Safety Programs.
- A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in oil and gas operations.
- Possession of a 4th Class or Fired Process Heater Operator Ticket is advantageous.
- Experience in Gas Process Operations (GPO) / Production Field Operations (PFO) levels A, B, C & D / I, II, III & IV or Oil & Gas Process Operations (OGPO) levels 100, 200, 300 & 400 / I, II, III & IV.
We recognize the importance of transferable skills and may consider equivalent combinations of experience and education for candidates who do not meet specific requirements.
This position is classified as safety-sensitive, and employment for the selected candidate will be contingent upon successful completion of required pre-employment medical and alcohol/drug assessments.
Maintaining a Class 5 driver's license, a satisfactory driving record, and compliance with relevant company policies and guidelines is essential. A driver's abstract will be part of the background checks conducted during the pre-employment screening process.
