Le titulaire du poste transmet des informations et des formations aux utilisateurs de la décharge concernant les pratiques appropriées d'élimination des déchets, inspecte les déchets pour assurer la conformité avec le règlement sur la gestion des déchets, et veille à ce que la zone de la station de transfert au sein de l'installation de gestion des déchets soit organisée et bien entretenue.

Fonctions et responsabilités :

Examine les chargements de déchets commerciaux et résidentiels à l'installation de gestion des déchets pour s'assurer de leur conformité selon le règlement sur la gestion des déchets. Calcule et communique les frais applicables conformément au règlement sur les frais et charges. Inspecte les déchets commerciaux et résidentiels mis en place pour la collecte afin de soutenir la conformité avec le règlement sur la gestion des déchets. Fournit des informations et des formations aux clients concernant la bonne séparation des déchets à l'installation de gestion des déchets. Oriente tous les utilisateurs vers les zones d'élimination/recyclage appropriées selon le règlement sur la gestion des déchets. Organise et maintient la station de transfert de l'installation de gestion des déchets, y compris la réception et la consolidation des déchets dangereux ménagers. Enregistre et documente toutes les infractions. Gère les données de conformité et prépare des rapports. Signale les infractions au règlement clairement visibles au superviseur et/ou aux services de réglementation. Effectue des tâches manuelles telles que balayer, pelleter, soulever, emballer, transporter, creuser et déplacer des objets. Distribue des brochures d'information de la ville de Whitehorse selon les besoins. Fournit un contrôle de la circulation à l'installation de gestion des déchets selon les besoins. Suit, dans la mesure du raisonnable, les procédures et normes de sécurité établies. Autres tâches connexes.

Conditions de travail :

Cinq quarts de travail de 8 heures par semaine, du dimanche au samedi. Exposition à tous types de déchets solides, saleté/poussière, produits chimiques potentiellement nocifs, odeurs et fumées. Exposition à des températures extrêmes et à des conditions météorologiques défavorables, bruit nécessitant une protection auditive, travail sur un terrain inégal. Volume élevé d'interaction avec le public, y compris des interactions parfois désagréables. Soulever des objets lourds (plus de 23 kg) quotidiennement.

Connaissances, compétences et aptitudes requises :

Diplôme de niveau secondaire Permis de conduire de classe 5 1 an d'expérience pertinente antérieure 3 mois d'expérience sur le terrain Doit posséder de solides compétences interpersonnelles et en gestion des conflits Doit avoir une connaissance approfondie des pratiques de gestion des déchets Capacité à travailler de manière autonome Premiers secours standard, y compris RCR niveau C

Une certification supplémentaire est requise dans l'année suivant l'embauche, y compris : Transport de marchandises dangereuses, SIMDUT, Évaluation et contrôle des risques, Cours de contrôle de la circulation. Une combinaison équivalente d'éducation, de formation et d'expérience peut être considérée.
